Virginia (Gin)Taylor Pinson

Virginia (Gin) Taylor Pinson, 94, of Valdosta died Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born in Sylvester on September 4, 1917 to the late William Melton and Penelope Matthews Taylor. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 39 years, Al Pinson, two brothers, Ottis Taylor of Port St. Joe, Fla. and Oris Taylor of Moultrie and her beloved daughter in law, Carole Rice Pinson.
Gin and Al owned and operated the Valdosta House of Carpets for many years and she remained an interior decorator until her retirement. Mrs. Pinson was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Jim Pinson of Valdosta, granddaughter and her husband, Cathy and Rick Cheeseman, four great grandchildren, Ethan Cheeseman, Kyle Cheeseman, Denise Pinson Cheeseman and Katie Carole Cheeseman all of Waconia, MN., one sister, Flo Smith of Albany and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm, Monday, September 19, 2011 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. David Tart officiating. A private burial will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1pm until service time at the funeral home.
