Virginia Copeland Drumheller

February 22, 1927 — September 22, 2016

Virginia Copeland Drumheller, 89, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Born in Valdosta on February 22, 1927, to the late James B. & Wynelle Varnedoe Copeland, she was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Educated in the Valdosta City Schools, she went on to attend Georgia State College for Women, now Valdosta State University, where she was a charter member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Mrs. Virginia was a member of First Presbyterian Church and she was also an avid golfer and bridge player. As a golfer, she was a member of the Valdosta Country Club, Ladies Golf Association.
Mrs. Virginia leaves two sons and a daughter in law, Michael A. Jr. & Mary Ann Drumheller and David V. Drumheller, all of Valdosta; a daughter and son in law, Wynn Drumheller & Don Oukrop of Spokane, WA; ten grandchildren, Brett (Liz) Edwards, Beth (Jason) DeLoach, Michael (Kelly) Drumheller, Anne (Blake) McLeod, David (Ashley) Drumheller, Jr., Lanson (Mandi) Oukrop, Ginny (Gabe) Taylor, Courtney Lane, Lee (Nickie) Lane, Shelby Drumheller; a brother in law and sister in law, William P. & Lila Drumheller and a sister in law, Bonnie Copeland. Also surviving are nieces & nephews, Nona W. Sterne, Sue S. (Bobby) Mitchell, Taffy S. (Steve) Dunlevie, Sis S. (Jimmy) Blanchard, Desi Copeland (Jack) Irwin, James A. (Nancy) Parramore, Lamb P. Lastinger, Ginna P. (John) McTier, and William C. (Peggy) Parramore and sixteen great grandchildren. Last but not least, Lynn Shelton, a dear friend, and all of Mrs. Virginia's, dear friends, too many to name. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Michael A. Drumheller, a daughter Virginia Drumheller Lane, her two sisters, Frances Copeland Sterne, Wynona Copeland Parramore; and a brother, James B. Copeland. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Bethany Hospice and Fellowship Home for the loving care given to Mrs. Virginia.
A graveside funeral for Mrs. Virginia will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Rev. Ken Webb will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 313 N.
