Virginia Allen Woodruff

Virginia Allen Woodruff, 85, of Mayday died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Lowndes County on October 12, 1928 to the late Norman and Eva Register Allen. Mrs. Woodruff was a homemaker and a Baptist. She loved her family, enjoyed traveling and working in her flowers.

Mrs. Woodruff is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Catherine Strickland of Baxley and Norman and Carol Strickland of Mayday, her daughter, Julianna Woodruff and Vijay Saigal of Shreveport, Louisiana, her special friend, Teresa Mathis of Ray City, a devoted cousin, Carol Foster of Valdosta, six grandchildren, Dane Woodruff, Michael and Robyn Woodruff, Poppy and Mike Kroese, Becky and Stacy Bourquine, Allen and Roni Strickland, Dusty and Kerri Strickland and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, M. B. (Bill) Woodruff, two sons, Randall Dane Woodruff and William Robert (Bobby) Woodruff, daughter in law, Hellen Woodruff and brother, Norman Allen, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2014 at two thirty p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Boykin, Mr. Juhan Reid and Mr. John Pike officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Mayday. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Saturday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
