Viney Ellis

Viney Ellis, 61, of Barney, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on March 25, 1953 in Brooks County and has been a resident of this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Viney loved nature and spending time outdoors whether it was fishing, working in her rose garden or just enjoying the beauty of God's handiwork. She was a big believer in making people feel welcome in her home and no one left her without being fed and happy. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Buddy Davis of Diamond Head, Mississippi, a son and daughter-in-law, John and Tracy Newman of Hahira, a son, Conrad Horn of Barney, a daughter, Crystal Patten and a son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Courtney Ellis all of Quitman; seven grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Coty Davis, Garth Robinson, Blaine Robinson, James Moody, Jonathan Moody and Chloe Ellis; a great-grandson, Kameron Davis; one brother, Leonard Blaxton of Moultrie; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ellis and her mother, Hattie Louella Kent Watson.

A graveside service for Viney Ellis will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Campground Cemetery in Morven, Georgia.
