Vernon Sidney Tanner

Vernon Sidney Tanner, 76, of Valdosta died on Friday, March 06, 2009 at Heritage House Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. He was born in West Green, Georgia on April 22, 1932 and is the son of the late Charles and Julia Taylor Cowart. He was a retired carpenter and was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Pearl Tanner.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Plair of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Geno Principe of Atlanta; a son David G.R. and Ann Holmes of Pinetta, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Jimmy Strickland of Valdosta; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mr. Vernon Tanner will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 1p.m. at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with the family officiating.
