Tyler Blaine Eckwahl

Tyler Blaine Eckwahl, 68, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019. He was born on December 6, 1951 in Jamestown, NY to the late Phillip G. Eckwahl and Vivian I. Vik Eckwahl. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he pursued a career as an RN. He was employed at South Georgia Medical Center. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, reading, music, and watching John Wayne movies. He loved to sing and spend time with his family.
Mr. Eckwahl is survived by his wife Joyce Eckwahl; his children Heather (Brock) Yommer, Jacob (Lisa) Eckwahl, Ean Eckwahl, Andrew Eckwahl, Joey Eckwahl, and Rio Komatsu; his grandchildren Parker Trouille, Addison Yommer, Jenna Yommer, Gage Eckwahl, Stone Eckwahl, all of Valdosta; a brother Khlar Eckwahl, of Austin, TX; three sisters Cheryl Eckwahl Cook (Jeff), of Versailles, KY, Regina Eckwahl McNamara, of Enid, OK, and Jennifer Hitchcock, of Bemus Point, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents of both sides, and his former wife Shirley Miller Eckwahl.
A funeral service for Mr. Eckwahl will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Chaplain Brian Sayre officiating.
