TOMMY RAY (HILLBILLY) LENOIR, 52, of Valdosta died Friday, February 3, 2006 in South Carolina from injuries sustained in a trucking accident. He was born on October 7, 1953 in Chilton County, Alabama and had lived in Valdosta for twelve years. Mr. Lenoir was a member of the Redland Baptist Church and a truck driver for WTI Transport. He had over three million miles as a truck driver with twenty seven years experience. He had been voted Driver of the Year seven times and had won numerous safety awards. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Lenoir.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah A. Lenoir of Valdosta, his children, Brandi and Rob Balmer of Tucson, AZ., Tommy Lenoir, Jr. and Shawn Lenoir both of Selma, Ala., Michael Wingert of Valdosta, Brook Lenoir of Selma, Ala., Keith and Kathryn Sanders of Valdosta, his mother, Louise Glaze Lenoir of Selma, Ala., his stepmother, Edna Lenoir of Maplesville, Ala, his parents in law, David (Pops) and Arnette Putnam of Valdosta, Billy and Frances Snodgrass of Selma, Ala., his four sisters, Sandra (Bill) Lovelady of Selma, Ala., Lynn (Berry) Stephens of Selma, Ala., Connie (Michael) Longcrier of Jones, Ala., Ann (Thomas) Thompson of Selma, Ala., his six brothers, Ricky (Mary) Lenoir of Selma, Ala., Mickey (Becky) Lenoir of Limestone, TN., David Lenoir of Selma, Ala., Gregory (Mary) Lenoir of Plantersville, Ala., George (Amy) Lenoir of Plantersville, Ala. and Ricky Snodgrass of Newport News, VA., his grandchildren, Kristin Balmer, Robert Balmer, Ian Balmer all of Tucson, AZ., Tyler Lenoir, Chelesy Lenoir both of Selma, Ala., Katie Sanders, Kalie Sanders, Emma Sue Sanders and Kaden Sanders all of Valdosta, sixteen nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, Redland Baptist Church Family, neighbors, friends, truck driver buddies of the highway and the WTI Company family.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Redland Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Redland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Redland Baptist Church Buildling Fund for Sunday School.
