Tommy Herring

October 20, 1941 — December 13, 2007

Tommy Herring, 66, of Valdosta, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Valdosta on October 20, 1941 to Remer Lawson and Fannie Zerrah Rouse Herring. Mr. Herring was assistant cure manager of Wetherington Farms, was in the United States Navy Reserves and the National Guard. He served on the USS Kennebec.

Mr. Herring is survived by his father, Remer Lawson Herring of Valdosta, one son, David Thomas Herring, one daughter, Lana Elizabeth Herring of Orlando, one brother and sister in law, Bill and Barbara Herring of Valdosta, one nephew, Marcus Herring, two nieces, Gina Herring Roffe and Jessica Herring Torres, son and his wife, Terry and Laura Cooper of Valdosta, special loving aunt, Kathleen Bass of Valdosta, other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Montgomery of Victory Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
