Tom "Ringo" Ringos

October 2, 1958 — April 17, 2018

Tom “Ringo” Ringos, 59, of Hahira, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his residence. Tom was born in Youngstown, OH on October 2, 1958 and moved with his family to Valdosta at an early age. A 1976 graduate of Valdosta High School, soon after high school, Tom started working at Roadway in Lake Park, now YRC Freight. Having worked there over 40 years now, ‘Ringo’ continued to be a faithful employee, working hard and enjoying the camaraderie of the dock. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. For many years Tom has held a special love for his German Shepherd dogs and his current companion “Hans”. A member of the Teamsters Union, he was also an avid sports fan, watching Atlanta Braves baseball and Georgia Bulldog football.
Survivors include his mother, Wendy Johnson, of Union City; his sister, Tesa Johnson Brasher of Flowery Branch; two nieces and a nephew, Ashton Brasher, John Thomas Brasher and Jackie Brasher. He is also survived by his very protective ex-wife, Pam Ringos. He is preceded in death by a brother, Ted Ringos and his father, Tom Ringos.
A memorial service will be held for Tom at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Henderson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valdosta/Lowndes County Humane Society, 1740 W Gordon St., Valdosta, GA 31602 or the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
