Thomas Allen Futch, Iii

Thomas Allen Futch, III, 74, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on March 8, 1946 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Dr. Thomas Allen Futch, Jr. and Dorothy Hughes Futch. Mr. Futch was a veteran and had served in the Georgia National Guard. He had worked with Sears for 21 years and upon retirement, entered into the education field. He had taught at Westbrook School and both the Brooks County and Lanier County school systems as an English teacher. Mr. Futch loved the great outdoors and was particularly passionate about fishing and duck hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Will and Taylor, as well as all of his family. He attended the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Futch of Valdosta; his daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Billy Steinberg of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Will Steinberg and Taylor Steinberg both of Valdosta; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tim and Terri White of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Joanne Futch.
A graveside service for Mr. Thomas Allen Futch, III, will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Keith Humphrey officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Billy Steinberg.
