Thelma R. Marshall

Thelma R. Marshall, 90, of Valdosta, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Lakehaven Nursing Home. Born on April 15, 1917 in Bemiss, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lydia Williams Raines. She loved to garden and fish with her family and also loved to shop and spend time with her family. She loved going to garage sales. Mrs. Marshall was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Betty Marshall of Valdosta; grandchildren, Kathy (Mike Raines) Milligan of Valdosta, Linda Faye Adams of Waycross, Terri Johnson of Fresno, CA, Kristel Giovannoni of San Diego, CA, Tony Giovannoni of Reno, NV; sister, Ophelia Bailey of Hahira; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Marshall; daughter, Mary Adams; brothers, Ellwood Raines; brother and sister-in-law, Earnest and Agnes Raines; brother-in-law, Jack Bailey; sister and brother-in-law, Lottie and LeRoy Barfield.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2007 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Dr. Carroll Joye officiating. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery.
