Steven L. Holtzclaw, of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. He was born in Valdosta, on September 19, 1949 to the late James Garnett Holtzclaw and Edith Sims Holtzclaw. He was the owner of Thomas County Glass. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch baseball. Mr. Holtzclaw enjoyed cooking, especially with the produce from his garden, his hot peppers and citrus trees. He was known for arguing with his brothers and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Mr. Holtzclaw is survived by his wife Jacqueline A. Holtzclaw, of Thomasville; sons Damon (Tabitha) Holtzclaw, of Douglas, GA, and James (Stacey) Holtzclaw, of Valdosta; daughter Kristie Carpenter, of Tifton; two grandchildren, J.J. Holtzclaw, of Valdosta, and Casey Carpenter, of Tifton; two brothers, Billy Holtzclaw, of Barney, and Charles (Nancy) Holtzclaw, of Valdosta; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Jimmy H. Holtzclaw, and Winston Holtzclaw, and two sisters, Nettie Friis, and Marjorie Jett.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Corinth Church Cemetery with Brother Mark Mercer officiating. Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.McLaneCares.com. Carson McLane
