Stephen Randall Cook, 52, of Valdosta died on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was born on April 24, 1958 in Live Oak, Florida to Kirtley R. Cook and Jo Catherine (Cathy) Allen Calloway. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Navy and was employed with Snow King Ski Resort in Jackson, Wyoming as a security specialist. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, Wyoming.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Cathy and Thomas Calloway; his father and step-mother, Kirtley and Sachiko Cook of Tallahassee; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Manuel DeLaVina of Tampa, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, John and Danette Cook of Tallahassee; nephews and their spouses, Joseph and Melissa DeLaVina and Kevin and Lindsay DeLaVina all of Tampa; great-nephews, Tyler and Bryson DeLaVina also of Tampa; numerous aunts and cousins.

A visitation for Stephen Cook will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Bay Pine National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Morningside Baptist Church or the Langdale Hospice House. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Cook family.
