Stephen Floyd Thompson

Stephen Floyd Thompson, 64, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on November 24, 1947 in San Diego, California to the late Norman and Mae Veasey Thompson. Mr. Thompson was retired from the United States Navy.

He is survived by one daughter, Tonya Thompson of Valdosta, two sons and one daughter in law, William Thompson and Christopher and Angie Thompson of West Green, GA, four grandchildren, Shelby Thompson, Keegan Dedmond, Jesse Thompson and Nate Thompson, his step mother, Christine Thompson of New Port Richey, FL, his brother and sister in law, Stanford and Thelma Thompson of Parkville, Missouri, his brother and sister in law, Rodney and Darla Garrison of Plant City, FL, his sister, Donnie Thompson of New Port Richey, FL, his brothers and sister in law, Layton Thompson of New Port Richey, FL and Daniel and Crystal Thompson of Doerun, GA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Randy Rathmann officiating. The family will recieve friends from 12:30 until 2 p. m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Monday, September 17, 2012 at one p. m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with honors performed by the United States Navy.
