Sheila Pattillo Thomas

Sheila Pattillo Thomas, 52, of Lake Park died on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Langdale Hospice House following a battle with cancer. She was born in Valdosta on December 13, 1959 and has been a resident here all of her life. She was an administrative clerk for the Lakeland City Police Department and had previously been employed in the administrative department with Lowndes County. She was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church. Sheila was a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend. She lived to serve others and never turned anyone away who was in need. She saw in nature the power and majesty of God and knew the true meaning of the word JOY.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Thomas of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Candie Murphy McGee and David Warren McGee of Lake Park; son and daughter-in-law, Chad Pattillo Gordon and Megan Gordon of Key West, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Caysee Denise Wheeler and Kevin Wheeler of Lakeland, Georgia; step-daughter and her spouse, Heather Thomas Grenat and Steve Grenat and a step-son and his spouse, Stephen Clayton Thomas and Lauren Thomas all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Pacie McGee, Tate McGee, and Kaymin McGee, Shelly Wheeler, Brayden Wheeler and Brenden Wheeler, Ethan Grenat and Aniela Grenat and granddaughter to be, Fynley Gordon; her parents, A.H. and Juanita Pattillo of Lake Park; two brothers, Lynn Pattillo of Lake Park and Scott Pattillo of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Sheila Thomas will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Badley and Rev. Michael P. Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Langdale Hospice House 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, Ga. 31602.
