Sarah Bass Phillips

SARAH BASS PHILLIPS, 88 of Valdosta died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 25, 1917 in Valdosta to the late Barnie Vester and Hattie Cothron Phillips and was a lifelong resident of the area. Ms. Phillips was a member of the Redland Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Dorothy Bass Scott and Robert Scott of Valdosta, 7-grandchildren, 11-great grandchildren and 1-great great grandchild, a special first cousin, Nellie Dasher of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son in law, Martha Bass White and Rodrick White and two half brothers, George Aaron Price and Charlie Lamar Price.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, February 19, 2006 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Watkins and Chaplain Daren Waters officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Forest Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-3pm at the funeral home.
