Russell K. Zipperer

June 21, 1948 — March 22, 2006

Russell K. Zipperer, 57 of Valdosta died on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. Born on June 21, 1948 in Valdosta, he was the son of Stanley and Hilda Zipperer of Valdosta. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in Vietnam. Mr. Zipperer was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Merita and Joe Humphrey of Rome, Varina and Emory Felts of Adel; brothers and sister-in-law, Stephen Zipperer, Ivey and Susan Zipperer all of Valdosta; nieces and nephews, Thomas and Katie Humphrey, Micah Humphrey, Cherilyn Humphrey all of Rome; Stacie Zipperer, Stanley Zipperer III, Cecilia Zipperer all of Valdosta, Jacob and Justin Felts of Adel and a great niece and great nephew, Camden and Isabella Humhrey of Rome.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Reverend John McGowan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed on the Obituary page at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
