Ruby Craven Cabral, 74, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Shand's in Gainesville, Florida. Born on January 31, 1936 in Valdosta, she was the daughter of the late Sephas and Mary Cooper Craven. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Providence United Methodist Church. She was the best of the best pound cake baker.
Survivors are her husband, Joseph Cabral of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Donna Cabral, Ricky and Donna Cabral of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Rocky Griner of Lake Park; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doll and Sammy Vickery, Janice and Larry Taylor of Valdosta; brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Carla Craven of Valdosta; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 11 am in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Ray Yody will officiate. Burial will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brooks County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 ï¿½ 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
