Ronald L. Newham

April 6, 1938 — February 13, 2022

Ronald L. Newham, 83, of Lake Park, died on Sunday February 13, 2022 at his residence. Born in Orlando, FL to the late Ralph E. & Lucille McLeod Newham, the family spent several years in Naples before moving to Valdosta in 1947. Mr. Newham attended Valdosta High School before joining the U.S. Air Force. After his stint, he returned to Valdosta in the late 1950’s and married the former Carolyn Eason on September 19, 1958. He soon began a career in Construction that would last 40 years, until his retirement in 1998. During his career in construction, he worked for several builders and at times himself, in different roles and in different types of construction. Mr. Newham was a devoted family man, and he loved owning many types of vehicles over the years. These two loves were combined as he loved driving with his wife to Yellowstone and other national parks all over the US in their RV, and fishing with his boys in fishing boats and skiing with the grandchildren in ski boats. Traveling and spending time with the family were his passions.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Eason Newham, of Lake Park; a daughter and son in law, Sandra & James Clark of Valdosta; two sons and daughters in law, Donald & Lynette Newham of Valdosta and Steve & Kay Newham of Lake Park; seven grandchildren, Chris Clark of Nashville, Justin (& Stephanie) Clark of Lake Park, Matthew (& Amber) Clark of Adel, Dr. Carolyn (& Garrett) Allen of Valdosta, Stephanie Newham, Kayla Newham, both of Valdosta and Zach Newham of Lake Park. Also surviving is a brother and sister in law, Wayne & Linda Newham of Fitzgerald, a sister in law, Mary Nell Newham of Monroe, and seven great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
