Robert E. Wallace, 82, of Valdosta, died on Friday, September 27, 2013. Born in Big Rapids, MI on October 18, 1930 to the late Chester & Hazel Wallace, he had lived in this area for the past 44 years. A graduate of Central Michigan University, he served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Wallace was happiest when he was fishing or hunting especially with his sons and grandsons. He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his dear friend and companion, Mary Gray of Valdosta, and his former wife, Joyce Cotter Brehm of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter in law, Michael R. Wallace and Russell C. & Laurie Wallace, all of Valdosta; a daughter and her wife, Megan M. Wallace & Mary Callsen of Washington, D.C.; 9 grandchildren, triplets- Austin, Pierce & Doyle Wallace and Madalyn Wallace, all of Valdosta, Patrick Wallace, Alexandra Wallace and Christopher Wallace, all of Valdosta, Eleanor Wallace and Caroline Wallace, both of Washington, D.C.. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters in law, Don & June Wallace of Clare, MI and Roger & Diana Wallace of Northfield, MI, and a brother in law, D. Hugh Clark of Harbor Beach, MI. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joleen Wallace Clark.

A funeral mass for Mr. Wallace will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Dan O'Connell will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The Rosary prayer service for Mr. Wallace will occur at 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, with visitation to follow until 7 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
