Robert E. Sowell

Robert E. Sowell, 72, of Lake Park, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 following a brief illness. He was born in Valdosta, on June 8, 1948 to the late A.B. Sowell and Frankie Parrish Sowell. Mr. Sowell was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from CSX Transportation as a signal maintainer after nearly 35 years. Mr. Sowell loved to spend time with his family especially his grandkids, he also loved hunting, fishing, and talking because never met a stranger, and working part time at the Mill. He was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Sowell is survived by his wife Helen Ganas Sowell, of Lake Park; his son Donnie (Angie) Sowell, and son Ben Sowell, both of Lake Park; his grandchildren, Ava Sowell, Gavin Sowell, and Ivey Grace Sowell; his sister Susan (Mike) Courson, of Valdosta; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anne Holley, brother Don Sowell, and great uncle Lloyd Sowell.
