Rheda Joyce Mcpherson

Rheda Joyce McPherson, 88, of Lake Park, GA, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Lakehaven Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Ruskin, FL, on July 13, 1933, to the late Herbert Brewer and Beady Sanchez Brewer. Mrs. McPherson was a retired school bus driver for various counties for 31 years. She loved reading, cooking, and traveling. She enjoyed good gospel music, and dearly loved her Lord and Savior. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. McPherson is survived by three sons, J.R. Wood (Liz), of Valdosta, Gene (Dina) Wood, of Statenville, and Timmy (Lynn) Wood of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Jennifer Royals, of Quitman, GA, Kim (Steve) Harris, of Valdosta, Wally Wood, of Valdosta, Amanda Wood, of Adel, Candi (Bryan) McRee of Valdosta, Carrie (Jeremy) Caraway of Valdosta, Lee (Kat) Montague, of Valdosta, Sherry (Ted) Pogatschnik, of Wisconsin, Debbie (Jason) Fowler, of Crawfordville, FL, Dewayne (Tia) Wood, of Nashville, GA, Blu (Shelly) Wood of Dasher, GA, Tonya Rogers, of Quitman, Ed Drury of Marietta, GA, Charlie Wood, of Savannah, GA, T.J. Wood, of Enterprise, AL, Nicole Ozell of Brunswick, GA, and Jessica (Jonathan) Jennings, of North Carolina; twenty four great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Gayle Wood; sisters-in-law Sue Ann Brewer and Betty Brewer; and brother-in-law Walter Corbin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Rev. W.C. Wood, her second husband Mac McPherson, three sons Bruce Wood, Jerry Wood, and David Wood, a daughter Jennifer Wood Drury, three brothers Herbert Brewer, Cale Brewer, and Arnold Brewer, a sister Shirley Corbin, and a daughter-in-law Linda Wood.
Funeral services for Mrs. McPherson will be held at 2pm on Friday, December 17, 2021, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Bro. Carlton Allen officiating.
