Ralph Aaron Chitty

Ralph Aaron Chitty, 85, of Valdosta, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN. He was born on October 4, 1920 in Valdosta to the late Milton Frank and Sallie Jane Futch Chitty. Mr. Chitty was retired from the United States Postal Service, was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Westside Baptist Church, NALC and NARFE.

He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Marilyn and Michael Whalen of Brentwood, TN, one sister, Betty Hadsock of Lakeland, GA, two sisters in law, Vivian Coody of Valdosta and Carolyn Hughes of Graceville, FL, nine nieces and nephews.
His wife, Gwendolyn Juanita Scarborough Chitty preceded him in death on June 18, 1993.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at eleven a. m. at Westside Baptist Church with Reverend Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p. m. Monday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
