Phillip H. Corbett, 69, of Lake Park, Echols County, died of a sudden illness on November 23, 2020, at South Georgia Medical Center. Son of the late Austin W. and Wynell Kinsey Corbett, he was born in Valdosta on May 12, 1951.
Phillip attended Echols County Schools and farmed with the family business for over 20 years. In 2000 he started the M.P. Pest Control business with his partner Herb Mason and had continued in the pest control business since that time. For nine years he drove a school bus for Echols County Schools. Phillip especially enjoyed time spent with his family and watching his granddaughter Kendall play basketball. He was a devoted member of Unity Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Linda Corbett of Echols County; sons and daughters in law, Phil and Kelsey Corbett of Echols County, Sean and April Corbett of Omega; grandchildren, Kendall Corbett of Echols County, Blaine Corbett and Taylor Jordan of Omega; his twin sister and brother in law, Phyllis and Wayne Suggs of Echols County, brothers and sisters in law, Jerry and Debbie Corbett of Lowndes County, Alton and Mary Corbett of Jennings, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Dalton Corbett, and Terry Corbett, and sisters, Shelby Phillips, Annette Howard and Juanita Carter.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. at Carter Cemetery. Brother Randy Strickland will officiate. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online www.mclanecares.com. McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
