Peggy Ann Griffin Allen, 61, of Valdosta died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Valdosta on August 10, 1958 to the late Horace Thaye Griffin and the late Pearl Ann Roll Griffin. Peggy was a member of the Cecil Baptist Church. She was a 1976 graduate of Lowndes High School where she was a member of Lowndes High Viking Band. Peggy had worked a sales person and office manager for Patterson Griffin Shoes and as advertising agent for the Valdosta Daily Times. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed life to the fullest.
She is survived by her former husband, Johnny “Possum” Allen of Valdosta; two sons, John Tanner Allen of Jupiter, FL, Keaton Thaye Allen of Valdosta; her brother, Gary Griffin of Cecil; several nieces and nephews; her best friend, Alan Williams of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Debra Lee Griffin and a brother, Jeffery Thaye Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday, September 27, 2019 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
