Peggy A. Wood

Peggy A. Wood, 62, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on July 27, 1949 in Jesup, GA to the late Charlie Lawton Knight and Dorothy Mildred Johnson Knight. Mrs. Wood was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Pastor W. E. Wood of Valdosta; two daughters and one son in law, Venus and Ed Martin of Valdosta, Tina Wood of Lake Park; and a son and daughter in law, Billy and Amy Wood of Waycross; ten grandchildren, Eddie Martin (Brittney), Bridgette Beasley, Matt Martin, Brittany Jury (Jonathan), Brooke Thomas (Shay), Brandy Smith, Little Billy Wood, Brandon Wood, Joshua Hackett and Brody Wood; ten great grandchildren, two brothers and sisters in law, Charlie and Barbara Knight of St. Mary's, GA, Meldron and Linda Knight of Bryceville, FL; one sister and brother in law, Debbie and John Cooper of Bryan, TX.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at First United Pentecostal Church, 3909 Bemiss Road, Valdosta, GA 31605 at three p. m. with Reverend James Dozier and Reverend Kenneth Goff officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. She will be placed in the church at two p. m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the church. The family will receive friends Friday from six until eight p. m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
