Patricia Ann "Pat" Vann, 64, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday April 19, 2015, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Cleveland, Tennessee on August 18, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edwards Brown and Mildred Brown. Known for her tough loving, she was feisty, nosey and headstrong. She adored her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and fishing and was a member of Swilley Hill Church of God, where she belonged to the women's group.
Survivors are her husband of 49 years, Ben Vann, Jr., of Valdosta; daughters and son in law, Vickie and Jim Simpson of Adel, Tonya Martin of Valdosta; grandchildren, Jessica and Dan Barnes, Emily Whitman, Austin and Amber Profetto, Seth Martin, Noah Blount, Nick Martin all of Valdosta; great grandchild, Smith Barnes of Valdosta; sister and brother in law, Betty and Caroll Cordell of Chattanooga, Tennessee, brother and sister in law, Thomas Edwards Brown, Jr. and Betty, sister, Rosa Schleif also of Cleveland, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carol Vann and brothers, Dewey Brown, Ricky Brown and Roger Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Brother Wayne Owen will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Partnership of Cancer Fund, 205 Woodrow Wilson Drive Valdosta GA 31602. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com.
