Nettie Parthenia Reeves

Nettie Parthenia Reeves, 85, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born on February 9, 1932 in Hahira, Georgia to the late Owens and Mary Purcell Bryant. Ms. Reeves was a retired educator with the Lowndes County School System and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a member of AARP, volunteered her time and services with LAMP, was part of her neighborhood watch committee, and was a former Sunday school teacher and served on the missions committee at her church.
She is survived by her son, Michael Reeves of Crestview, Florida; her granddaughter, Ariana Reeves of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and her sister, Bessie Camion of Hahira
Services for Ms. Reeves will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Hopkins officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
