Nadine L. Russell

Nadine L. Russell, 94, of Valdosta, died on Friday, May 26, 2023, at her residence. Born in Brooks County to the late John & Roberta Carter Lane, she has been a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Russell was a devoted mother to her two sons and an executive secretary at State Farm. Mrs. Russell was a homemaker and a member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church. Her hobbies were working in her yard, sewing, and loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James “Jim” Russell of Brooks County and Richard & Cindy Russell of Valdosta; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Wendell Russell; four brothers, Burton Lane, Bernan Lane, Frank Lane and Bobby Lane; two sisters, Kathrine Waldrep and Ruth Gilbert.

The funeral for Mrs. Russell will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Josh Purvis will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
