Mildred Young Lancaster

Mildred Young Lancaster, 92, of Valdosta died Friday, September 18, 2020 at her home. She was born on December 23, 1927 in Chelsea, GA to the late John Luke Young and Elzora Hattie May Wilson Young. Mrs. Lancaster was a retired clerk from the Internal Revenue Service. She was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ.
Mrs. Lancaster was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lancaster on July 18, 2019 and is survived by her daughters and son in law, Dawn L. and Ashley McLeod and Denise L. McCrary all of Valdosta, granddaughters, Auburn McLeod Bennett (Chad) of Valdosta, Laura McLeod Cole (Daniel) of Eagle River, Alaska, Elizabeth McLeod Goodman (Steven) of Calera, AL grandsons, Michael McCrary (Julie) of Cumming, GA, Justin McCrary (Brandy) of Valdosta, great granddaughters, Avery McCrary, Presley McCrary, Peyton McCrary and Anabella McCrary and Ainsley Goodman, great grandsons, Miller McCrary, Grant Cole and Colton Cole. She is also predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Cook and two brothers, John Luke Young, Jr. and Joe Charles Young.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 at one thirty p. m. at the graveside at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Quitman, GA with Mr. John Klimko and Mr. John Chick officiating. Burial will follow. After the service the family will receive friends from three until five p. m. at Park Place, 108 West Park Avenue, Valdosta.
