Mildred Lord Lehman

February 26, 1925 — October 20, 2009

MILDRED LORD LEHMAN, 84, of Valdosta, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Langdale Hospice House.

She was born February 26, 1925, in Swainsboro, a daughter of the late Harvey and Omie Waldron Lord. Mrs. Lehman was a member of First Assembly of God. She was faithful to her Church and her Lord, and she exemplified Christ in everything that she said and did. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she knew. She was always concerned about others and was generous to a fault.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Julian Lehman, Jr. and Shirley of Valdosta, and Tim Lehman and Brenda of Valdosta; two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Lehman of Valdosta, and Martha and Eddie Roberts of Lake Park; eight grandchildren, Paul and wife Lisette Lehman, Tracie and husband Shane Kelly, Brent and wife Lori Lehman, Heather Lehman, Paul Conkin, Beth and husband Rex Cullor, Kathy and husband Larry Clanton, Jr., Troy and wife Laura Katherine Roberts; fourteen great-grandchildren; a special niece, who was like a daughter, Diane Luke of Valdosta; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Nita and Norman Asbell of Cherry Lake, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Lehman, on March 30, 1999, a grandson, Mark Brian Lehman, and by two sisters, Blanche Gavin and Fairlene Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta, with Pastor Bryan Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Mrs. Lehman's family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
