Merriel Glover Kirkland

Merriel Glover Kirkland, 87, of Valdosta, Georgia and formerly of Lynn Haven, Florida died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Page and Viola Thomas Glover and had lived in Lynn Haven, Florida for sixty two years before moving to Valdosta in May of 2016. She was a member of the Lynn Haven First Baptist Church and the Bay Line Railroad Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Kenneth S. Kirkland of Valdosta; her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Chris Tone of Valdosta; her granddaughter, Heather Tone of Valdosta; her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jason and Emily Tone; great granddaughter, Jordan Tone, great grandson, Isaac Tone all of Sylvester, GA; sisters-in-law, Mary Glover and Mamie Cook both of Barbour County, AL; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-law, Monroe and Valeria Glover, Roy Glover, Lang Glover and two sisters, Jewel Davis and Myrtice Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm EST/1pm CST on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31602 with the Rev. Tom Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
