Mary Sorrell Alderman Ingram

Mary Sorrell Alderman Ingram, 87, of Hahira died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at her home after a brief illness. She was born on March 12, 1922 in Colquitt County to the late Thomas W. (T.W.) and Mellie Cooper Sorrell and had lived in Hahira since 1992. Mrs. Ingram was an active member and worker of the Hahira United Methodist Church and the Hahira Historical Society. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Gene Alderman of Moultrie, daughter and son in law, Amy and Robert (Pee Wee) Martin of Hahira, three grandchildren, Renee (Ed) Tucker, David (Brenda) Alderman and Resa (Jimmy) Vinson, seven great grandchildren, Robin Byington, Blake Byington, Zachary Tucker, Kayla Alderman, Regan Alderman, Peyton Alderman and Grayson Vinson, three sisters and a brother in law, Dorothy Jordan, Louise Lawson both of Hahira, Christine and Walter Denmark of Valdosta, two sisters in law, Virginia Sorrell of Tallahassee, Fla. and Barbara Sorrell of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cary E. Alderman and Wilbon A. Ingram, a grandson, Berry Croft and four brothers, Bill Sorrell, Grady Sorrell, J. D. Sorrell and Tommy Sorrell.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2009 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Morgan and Rev. Lynn Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery in Berlin. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
