Mary (Shady) Harris Linahan

Mary (Shady) Harris Linahan, 83, of Valdosta passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at her home. She was born in Lowndes County on February 23, 1930 to the late Tom Tinker and Estelle Hunter Harris. Mrs. Linahan worked at Strickland Cotton Mills in Remerton and Crackin' Good Bakery. She loved the Lord and reading his word on a daily basis, as well as walking, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Linahan was a member of Abundant Life Church of God.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters in law, Patrick Linahan of Valdosta, Willie (Pam) Linahan, Robert (Kay) Linahan all of Hahira, one daughter and son in law, Wanda (David) Carter of Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter in law, Kay Bellflowers Linahan of Valdosta, 14-grandchildren, 10-great grandchildren, three sisters, Christine Dennis, Shirley Vallee both of Valdosta, Lucy Faye Grover of McDonough, GA; one brother, Murray Harris of Valdosta, a number of nieces and nephews, special friends, Kathryn Parrish, Linda Hyre and Darlene Lehman. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Q. Linahan, Sr., one son, Leland Q. Linahan, Jr., two sisters, Ruth Starling Morgan and Vivian Lehman, three brothers, T. J. Harris, Roy W. Harris, Sr. and Aubrey J. (Ton) Harris.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Wayne Hughes and Mr. Willie Linahan officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
