Mary Love Hendry

MARY LOVE HENDRY, 77, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Holly Hills Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born January 6, 1932 in Alma, a daughter of the late Samuel “Boss” and Lottie Kinlaw Steedley. Mrs. Hendry had taught with the Valdosta City School System for over thirty years and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Ralph Hendry of Lake Park; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Rick Squires of Valdosta; four grandchildren, William Hendry III of Powder Springs, Jason Squires and wife Lottie of Lakeland, Heather Conner and husband Joie of Lakeland, and Desirai Pannell and husband Steve of Lee, FL; three great-grandchildren, Michael Pannell, Savannah Rai Pannell, and Jackson Squires; one sister, Sammie Harper of Cairo. She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Hendry, and by her daughter-in-law, Rai Jene Hendry.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Hendry will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Pine Forest Cemetery, Homerville, with Rev. Talmadge Guess officiating. The Hendry family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at the Carson McLane Funeral Home of Valdosta.
