Mary Herring

Mary Herring, 85, of Lake Park, died on Friday, August 13, 2021, at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born on February 3, 1936, in Berrien County Georgia to the late Wilbur Otto and Emma Sirmans Dent and was the 11th of 12 children. Mrs. Herring was retired from the Lowndes County Board of Education and served as a Para Pro at Lake Park Elementary School. She had also worked as an Assistant Clerk for the City of Lake Park. She had attended Antioch Church in the past and was currently a member of Lake Park Christian Church.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Louis Herring; her sisters, Mildred Giddens, Georgia Jefferson, Thelma Sirmans, and Ethel Jordan; her brothers, William Dent, Eston Dent, Carl Dent, James Dent, W.H. Dent, George Dent, and Bobby Dent.
A graveside service for Mary Herring will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Corbett and Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
