Mrs. Zipperer worked for Georgia Power Company for more than 30 years. She began in early 1952's as a secretary and retired as the Human Resources Director for this district in late 1980's. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and formerly a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Zipperer was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Mary Sue & Tyson McLane of Lake Park, a daughter in law, Dolores Brogdon Zipperer of Valdosta; six grandchildren and their spouses, Britt & Kristin McLane, Millie & Michael Sopt, all of Valdosta, Kyle & Maya McLane of Kiev, Ukraine, Mandy & Elliot Jackson of Decatur, Flynn & Brian Pinkston of Charlottesville, VA, and Emily & Chris Sandoval of Valdosta.
