Mary Elizabeth Akers, 80, of Lake Park died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. She was born on December 1, 1926 in Baileysville, West Virginia to the late Rev. Charles and Alice Tribune Blankenship. Mrs. Akers was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include her son, Joshua Akers, her daughters, Sherry (George) Kremer, Kathy (Tim) Phinney and Terry Hudson, a son in law, Frank Hudson, three siblings, Charles (Elizabeth) Blankenship, James (Judy) Blankenship and Edna Jean Long, her grandchildren, Billy Phinney and George Kremer and countless nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Joe Akers, a son, Mark Anthony Akers and three siblings, Burnell Rogers, George Blankenship and Billy Blankenship.
Memorial services will be held at 4pm, Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Park.
