Mary Ann Arneson Payne

Mary Ann Arneson Payne, 81, of Lee, FL, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Fargo, ND on November 10, 1938 to the late Albin and Hazel Monson Arneson. She was a homemaker who loved God and her family. She played the organ, and loved to sew, quilt, and bowl. Mrs. Payne volunteered with the LWML, and with the soup kitchen. She enjoyed any and all church activities. She loved her family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Valdosta.
Mrs. Payne is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Thompson Payne, Jr. of Lee, FL; three daughters, Vicki Steinhibel, of Dumfries, VA, Valerie Payne (Joseph Stafford) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Virginia (Larry) Jackson, of Warrenton, VA; two sons, Michael J. Payne, of Dumfries, VA, and Marc (Cynthia) Payne, of Freeport, MN; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Vivian Tucker, and Carolyn Held, and a brother Jerome Arneson.
