Martha Ellen Hatcher Grudzien

November 22, 1926 — July 1, 2010

Martha Ellen Hatcher Grudzien, 83, of Valdosta died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Smith Northview Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Headland, Alabama on November 22, 1926 to the late Thomas E. and Hettie Kirkland Hatcher. Mrs. Grudzien was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and retired from J. C. Penney's as a sales associate.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Grudzien, her daughter, Elizabeth Tracey Grudzien, three brothers and sisters in law, Charles and Lorre Hatcher all of Valdosta, Emory and Jean Hatcher of Denver, CO. and David Hatcher of Palatka, Fla., two sisters, Anita Shelton and Bettye Nichols both of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Hatcher and Robert Hatcher and one sister, Nelle Curtwright.

Funeral mass will be held at 12:10p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Marvin LeFrois officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
