Martha Cone

Martha Cone, 59, of Valdosta, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Thomasville, GA to Betty Joyce Cochran Nelson and the late James Neil Cone. She was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Cone enjoyed being a caregiver and Nana to Ian and Bella. She was a beloved aunt of Mary Catherine and Sam. She enjoyed Viking football, fish frys, and boat rides. Ms. Cone also enjoyed going out to lunch with her girlfriends and special times with the James family from Georgia to Illinois.
Ms. Cone is survived by her mother Betty Joyce Nelson, of Coolidge, GA, her sister Mary Schival, her niece Mary Catherine Schival, and nephew Sam Schival, all of Tampa, FL, her aunt Shirley Pennington, of Dacula, GA, cousins Lee Pennington, of Lawrenceville, GA, and Ryan Pennington, of Dallas, GA, and her forever family Dereck, Erin, Ian, and Bella Willis, all of Naylor, GA.
Funeral services for Ms. Cone will be held in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Thomas Qualls officiating. Burial will follow at Boston City Cemetery in Boston, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
