Marjorie Glenn White

Marjorie Glenn White, 80, of Valdosta died Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Valdosta on November 25, 1934 to the late Joseph Max and Willie Amelia Wall Glenn. Mrs. White was a member of the First United Methodist Church and received her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Valdosta State University. She was employed for thirty four years with the Department of Family and Children's Services and retired as the Director in 1999. Mrs. White was an adjunct professor at Valdosta State University from 1984-2005. She was active in the community having served as Past President of the Quota Club, Mental Health Association, past chair of United Way Board, member of Wymodausis Club and Board of Directors of Southside Recreation Center.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, David and Darra White of Valdosta, Sharon and Russ Taylor of Ludowici, GA, Patrick and Kathryn White of Greenville, FL; ten grandchildren, Dave Gibbs, Katie Gibbs, Jessica White, Jordan Lynch, Joseph White, Abigail White, Hannah White, Bryer White, Josh Izell, Kaylee Taylor and several great grandchildren; her brother and sister in law, Robert and Briggy Glenn of Midway, GA.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, 3119 W. Marion Ave., Lake Park, GA 31636.
