Marilyn H. Greene

Marilyn H. Greene, 80, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at Lake Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born in Hahira on October 3, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. Sr., and Alpha Bennett Hooker. Mrs. Greene worked as hostess for First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Perimeter Road Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Greene, Sr., Mrs. Greene is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Joyce and Ronnie Lynch of Valdosta, Judy and Wayne Ross of Denton, North Carolina, Cindy and Joe Bramlett of Morven, Tami and Larry Zipperer of Valdosta; son and daughter in law, William E. Jr., (Bill) and Dawn of Lake Park; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen greatgrandchildren, sisters, Iris Webb of Valdosta, and Jane Jenkins of Atlanta; sister and brother in law, Marthine and Maurice Harrison of Atlanta, brother, Charles C. Hooker, Jr. of Panama City, Florida.

Funeral services for Mrs. Greene will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Bob Willis, Reverend John McGowan and Wayne Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
