Margie Lineberger Dasher

Margie Lineberger Dasher, 90, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2018. She was the only daughter of the late Tullie Talbot and Vallie Johnson Lineberger born on November 27, 1927 in Valdosta, Georgia. She was salutatorian of her graduating class from Clyattville High School. After completing business school she worked for the clerk of the court at the Lowndes County Courthouse. On November 28, 1947 she married C.W. Dasher and they were devoted to one another for 46 years before he passed away. After the birth of their daughters, Margie Lynn and Melissa, she became a full-time mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Central Avenue Church of Christ. Her greatest joy was serving others. She avidly read and studied the Bible, enjoyed bird watching and growing flowers in her beautiful backyard, and talking about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Margie Lynn Dasher of Valdosta and Melissa and Roy Young of Madison, Alabama; her grandchildren, Trey Young, William Young and his wife, Kathryn, Russ Young, and Mary Young; her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Ryann, Keaton, Jillian, Elijah, and Cora; a brother and sister-in-law, Walton and Ann Lineberger, and a sister-in-law, Sara Dasher White, and many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Dasher.

Weather permitting graveside services for Mrs. Dasher will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Dasher Cemetery with Mr. John Klimko and Mr. Mike Black officiating, in case of inclement weather services will be held at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be Hospice of South Georgia or a charity of your choice.
