Margery Hall Stephens

Margery Hall Stephens, 80, of Lake Park, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Lowndes County, on April 19, 1937 to the late James Everett Hall and Rena Lavirl Zipperer Hall. She worked for the Lowndes County Board of Education as a para-pro and in the lunchroom. While her children were in school she was active with the 4H Club and Lowndes High Band Boosters. She was instrumental in starting the Miss 4H Pageant and served as the chairman for 20 years. She was always willing to help wherever there was a need. She was a member of Lake Park Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter Remonda Stephens of Lake Park; her sons and daughters in law, Richard and Terry Lynn Stephens of Omega, James and Diane Stephens of Lake Park, and Wendell and Gail Stephens of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Jessica Stephens of Lake Park, and Patrick and Arely Stephens of Valdosta; her great grandchildren, Caleb Stephens of Lake Park, Ian Stephens, and Elise Stephens both of Valdosta; her step grandchildren, Alison and Philip Atkinson of Marion, SC, Will and McKenna Crick of Atlanta, and Jordan Marie Mosley and Jada Lynn Mosley of Moultrie; her step great grandchild Abigail Atkinson of Marion, SC; her sister Wonda Arnold of Valdosta; and her brother and sisters in law, Lowell and Judy Hall of Lake City, FL, Carolyn Hall of Clyattville, and Madelyn Hall of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Elwood Stephens, Sr. and her brothers Ludy Hall, and Sherman Hall, her sister JoAnn Hartman, and brother in law Charles Arnold.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Brother Larry Harden and Pastor Glenn Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 1-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice.
