Mamie Ruth Nicholson

Mamie Ruth Nicholson, 88, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on May 4, 1929 in Ray City, GA to the late Richard Ancil Noles and Rosie Virginia Noles. Mrs. Nicholson was a retired homemaker, a member of Forest Park Church of Christ and enjoyed coloring in adult coloring books.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons in law, Patricia Brown of Valdosta, Sue and James Smith of Nashville, Fay and Arthur Roark of Valdosta, eleven grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nicholson is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lewis H. Nicholson, two sons, Arthur Lewis Nicholson and Roy Hall Nicholson, her granddaughter, Carol Leigh Evans, two brothers and eight sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Schappaugh officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
