Lucia Gough Bankston

Lucia Gough Bankston, 82, of Valdosta died Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Presbyterian Home after a lengthy illness. She was born on December 16, 1925 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late Preston and Zelda Henry Gough and had lived in Valdosta for the past fifty years. Mrs. Bankston was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law, Norman Ray and Ruth Bankston of Thomasville, Harry Thomas Bankston, III of West Point, six grandchildren, Deidre (Kenny) Hallonquist of Harris County, Ga., Jason Thomas (Kristi) Bankston of Athens, Brittany Gough Bankston of Athens, Harry Alston Bankston, Laurie McGee Bankston, Norman Henry Bankston all of Thomasville, three great grandchildren, Nicholas Kyle Hallonquist, Jonathan Bradley Hallonquist and William Thomas Hallonquist, three brothers and two sisters in law, Preston Gough of Jackson, MS., Norman Henry and Marleen Gough of Clinton, MS., Kerry and Cathi Gough of Augusta, Ga., sister in law, Betty Gough of Poquson, VA. and two brothers in law, Waymon Watkins of McComb, MS. and Ray Bankston of Hermitage, TN., six nephews and five nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thomas Bankston, Jr., a sister, Gaye Watkins, a brother, Jerry Gough and a granddaughter, Mary Quin Bankston.
