Louis Thomas Tweedell, Jr.

June 5, 1917 — March 23, 2009

Louis Thomas Tweedell, Jr., 91, of Hahira died Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville. He was born in Atlanta on June 5, 1917 to the late Louis Thomas, Sr. and Floye Johnson Tweedell and had lived in this area for thirty years. Mr. Tweedell was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He was a retired superintendent with Industrial Air in Greensboro, North Carolina and enjoyed working with his hands.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Lawton and Jennifer Jones of Atlanta, his daughter and son in law, Cheryl and Greg Tucker of Valdosta and his son, Jackie Tweedell of San Marcos, TX., three grandchildren, Angela Barker, Todd Lee and Mary Lawton Jones, five great grandchildren, Kent Barker, Kayla Barker, Summer Barker, Dawson Lee and Allyssa Lee, two brothers and sisters in law, Robert and Mary Lou Tweedell of Orange Park, Fla., Paul and Thelma Tweedell of Gainesville, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hughes Tweedell and a son, Eddie Tweedell.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclaneefuneralservices.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
