Louese Royal Weaver

Louese Royal Weaver, 88, of Valdosta died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Montebrook, Florida on March 19, 1927 to the late D. W. and Alpha Mae Priest Royal, grew up in Brooksville, Florida, and moved to Valdosta after marriage, where she resided until her death. Mrs. Weaver was a member of Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Berrien County. She worked at Southern Bell and retired after thirty seven and a half years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family including her sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her family members, cooking and finding deals at yard sales and thrift shops.
She will be remembered for her generosity and the love and care she gave to all those who were a part of her life. She will be greatly missed by everyone who loved her. Memories of her will live on through the stories she told and the love she gave.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Evelyn Weaver of Valdosta; her daughter and son in law, Brenda and Bill McCurdy of Lake Park; grandchildren and their spouses, Kristy and Scott McIntosh, Brandi and Jesse Warren, Blake and Kayla McCurdy, Danielle McCurdy; great grandchildren, Morgan McIntosh Cook, Luke McIntosh, Tyler McIntosh, Cole Warren, Wesley Warren, Ryder Leo McCurdy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lenouese and Charles Smeraglia of Valdosta, Ann Rhodes of Nokomis, FL, Dorothy and Lon Gambrell of Whitmire, SC., and lifelong friends, Ruby Lee Arnold and Merle Downing both of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo E. Weaver; six sisters: Bette Jean Cook, Julia Mae Looper, Lillie Belle Parramore, Denise Royal, Darlene Royal, and Virginia Gaye Royal and one brother: Dennis Wilson Royal.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, September 4, 2015 at Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery.
