Lisa Latrelle Calbert

Lisa Latrelle Calbert, 59, of Quitman, died in an automobile accident on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Born in Valdosta on January 16, 1961, Lisa was the daughter of the late James and Lois Young Lawson. She had worked as a prison guard with the Valdosta Correctional Institution and was a member of the Quitman Church of the Nazarene. Lisa had a lifelong love for learning, earning multiple degrees in nursing, accounting and business. She enjoyed working puzzles, drawing, horseback riding and playing games. Lisa found much joy in time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors are her daughter, Alicia (Shawn) Thurman of Valdosta; son, Michal Calbert of Valdosta; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; seven sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her significant other, Alvin Drake.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinegrove Cemetery near Lennox. Carson McLane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
